2007 American Library Association Annual
Washington, DC-June 23-June 26, 2007
The American Library Association Annual conference is the largest meeting of librarians in the world, drawing a broad audience from the U.S.. Publishers will find the most diverse audience for their products in the library market. Attendance regularly approaches 20,000, with many coming solely to see exhibits. Most of the attendees have purchasing authority and for many this is the only show they attend.  Through its 58,000 members, the ALA serves as a resource for public, academic, private and school libraries, and is responsible for accreditation of library school programs.
Librarians who attend the Annual Conference include leaders from public, academic, school, private and special libraries.
In Washington, the attendance is expected to be very good. ALA has not been to Washington in years and people like going to DC as was evidenced by the very large number of librarians who attended BookExpo America in 2006 at the Washington DC convention center.
Attendees also include the Association Executive Board, the budget assembly, councilors, members of the executive boards of the divisions and round tables, and officers of committees and sections.
