2009 Beijing International Book Fair

Beijing, China-September 3-September 7, 2009

China and the Asian marketplace business is built on long standing relationships. 2009 will be the fifth year that CBE and its sister company, American Collective Stand, will be attending the Fair. The Chinese market is the new frontier and the next big market for years to come. With 1.2 billion people, China is poised to become the biggest market in the world, with English language materials leading the way. Books in most all subject categories are appropriate.

Because of the Olympics, the 2008 show was moved out of Beijing, but 2009 moves right back into the capital city, promising a further increase in attendance and business.

Additionally in 2009, the Internatioanl Children’s Publishing Exhibit, an official children’s book exhibit of the fair, will make its sophomore appearance. The ICPE was joint venture between us, our sister company The American Collective Stand, The BIBF itself, The Association of Educational Publishers, The Publishers Association of the UK and the Children’s Book Council (USA). Though some changes are set to be made for 2009, ICPE will still receive its great location and attention from 2007.
