I've had a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long day, which started last night, or this morning, or whenever the hell I was last in New York, listening to someone playing an oboe in the hopes of being upgraded to "Upper Class" seating. It worked. Moral of the story: Fly Virgin Atlantic!!
When I arrived in London, I noticed that in the Underground station at Heathrow, there's a book vending machine. One more time: A. BOOK. Vending. Machine. It was called "Novel Idea," and I love everything about it. It should be noted however that I had no business being in the Underground station at London Heathrow, but I was lost.
Today was a long x however many day, but I accomplished a lot. Want to know where the parliament of England meets? I can show you a picture. Interested in Soho? I'll show-ho you why. Got a hankering for some creepy trees, located within the confines of what I have dubbed "Mr." Hyde Park? I can accommodate. I've walked a million miles today--because I kept getting lost--but I can now tell you the best way to get from Oxford Circus to Paddington (who knew I would ever know?!?!).
To cap off my day, since I am here for the BOOK fair after all, I decided to do something really literary and enjoy a pint at the Shakespeare's Head Pub. I learned a lot there.
Check back often, it only gets better from here....
