Greetings From London

Posted on April 6th, 2008

I've had a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long day, which started last night, or this morning, or whenever the hell I was last in New York, listening to someone playing an oboe in the hopes of being upgraded to "Upper Class" seating.  It worked.  Moral of the story:  Fly Virgin Atlantic!!

When I arrived in London, I noticed that in the Underground station at Heathrow, there's a book vending machine.  One more time:  A. BOOK. Vending. Machine.  It was called "Novel Idea," and I love everything about it.  It should be noted however that I had no business being in the Underground station at London Heathrow, but I was lost.

Today was a long x however many day, but I accomplished a lot.  Want to know where the parliament of England meets?  I can show you a picture.  Interested in Soho?  I'll show-ho you why.  Got a hankering for some creepy trees, located within the confines of what I have dubbed "Mr." Hyde Park?  I can accommodate.  I've walked a million miles today--because I kept getting lost--but I can now tell you the best way to get from Oxford Circus to Paddington (who knew I would ever know?!?!).

To cap off my day, since I am here for the BOOK fair after all, I decided to do something really literary and enjoy a pint at the Shakespeare's Head Pub.  I learned a lot there.

Check back often, it only gets better from here....

Testimonials

"As a small publisher I thank my lucky stars for the exhibition service CBE provides. My personal representative keeps tabs on what is needed, and reminding me when I forget and advising me when I am too busy to read their fliers. Most important, my rep at CBE has always been open and honest about which shows will benefit me most. If I could hire a personal staff of book exhibitors to work for Bright Ring, I would hire CBE. My library sales have risen markedly since employing their exhibit service, and I will continue to use them for all my new titles."
