Dear Publisher!

We’re sorry to say that this month’s newsletter is slightly abridged, but are happy to report that next month’s will be so full of greatness that we’re going to be sending it out quite early in the month in order to benefit you as much as possible.  Expect an extensive London Book Fair preview, possibly with some guest columns!

So for now, look below to read about another great new feature for this year’s New Title Showcase at Bookexpo America, and find out more about some upcoming Publishers Weekly happenings.

You probably already know these, but check ‘em out anyway:  Combined Book Exhibit, The CBE Database, and Comblogged Book Exhibit.

Happy reading, and see you in just a couple weeks!

Seth

Split At BEA NTS:

The beauty of the New Title Showcase, whether its at Bookexpo America, The London Book Fair, or making its debut this year at Bookexpo Canada, is the ability to have your book seen by literally tens of thousands of people at a low cost.  Between these three fairs, having your book on display in the New Title Showcase opens it to opportunities in rights sales, store orders, agent acquisitions and more.

With the addition of the “Look Inside The Book” services, powered by Follett Digital Resources, Bookexpo America has taken the marketing of your book to the next level.  Since bookseller and librarian attendance is so high at BEA, the decision was made to allow you to cater to them even better.  Like in years past, the BEA New Title Showcase will still feature an area organized alphabetically by company, but to target these important industry attendees even more effectively, you can now enter your books into a section of the exhibit organized by category.

Having this second section available for entry not only adds value to the exhibit for attendees and entrants alike, but it will also drive more traffic to the exhibit itself, and to the booths of those who are also exhibiting with a booth on the show floor.

To register for the BEA New Title Showcase, or any New Title Showcase, please visit www.newtitleshowcase.com and click the logo of the appropriate show.

If you have already registered for Bookexpo America, and would like to move your book into this new section, simply click on the following link and enter your assigned username and password (which can be found in your confirming email):

If you don’t know your username or password, feel free to drop us an email, and we’ll get it to you ASAP.

More Updates From PW:

Our friends at Publishers Weekly have kept busy since we last heard from them, and in doing so, are keeping us busy reporting to you.  Here are some important PW things to note:

PW has most of their April issues figured our.  Here’s what to expect:  April 7th will be the Science Fiction issue and April 21st Mystery.  April 28th is the ever important and useful Bookexpo America preview, allowing for plenty of time to plan your BEA.

Speaking of BEA, Publishers Weekly is once again doing the Show Daily, available each morning on the show floor, while Bookexpo America is underway.  The Show Daily is the easiest and, unless you’re the one doing the business, quickest source for all dealings at each BEA.

Avid readers of the CBE Newsletter probably remember the GN Info feature “From the Experts,” which was compiled of information that came out at Publishers Weekly’s “Think Future” breakfast series featuring the Graphic Novel Experts.  In April, PW is proud to be hosting the next “Think Future” breakfast, regarding Young Adult Materials. It’ll be taking place on April 29th.

Over at Publishers Weekly’s website, you can see a video from that Graphic Novel “Think Future” breakfast, which is the first video from the PW Video Channel, launched earlier this month.

Finally, PW is happy to announce that “Children's Bookshelf”—the weekly online newsletter dedicated to children’s books—has reached over 16,000 readers and is continuing to grow.

For more information on anything you see above, please contact Cevin Bryerman, PW’s Associate Publisher at 646-746-6654 or cbryerman@reedbusiness.com
