The Chinese market is one of the fastest growing markets for new books—and especially for English language material. With over 1 billion citizens, China is one of the, if not the number one, largest markets on Earth.
The Beijing International Book Fair is the premier venue for selling rights to this large market. The show itself sees an attendance of over 100 thousand people, and is a very high profile event for the country. Though China is a market that takes time and patience to break into, including your books in the Combined Book Exhibit, which is located within the American Collective Stand, is the best way to begin the process of selling books and book rights to this ever-growing market.
The 2008 Beijing International Book Fair will be held in Tianjin because of the Olympics. It will return to Beijing in 2009.
