Libraries in Florida have--for the last several years--been dealing with less than favorable legislation, from that limiting their budget to that limiting their growth, even in the most populous areas. So it’s no surprise that librarians in the Sunshine State have grown accustomed to making the utmost of informed decisions. For this reason, it's also no surprise that as the money has gone down, attendance at Florida Library Association's annual conference has gone up. They know the trade show is the best way to find new products, and especially new books. With the conference moving to Orlando, you can bet attendance will see a larger-than-normal increase.
