Ohio has always had a reputation for being a state concerned with libraries, oftentimes being cited as the state that spends the most on their libraries per capita, more than any other state in the US. Like the rest of the country, hard times eventually caught up with them, but it looks like 2011 will be a return to form, with nearly 40 new or additional levies being passed supporting libraries throughout the state, and an increase of more than 10% in statewide library funding. With these changes, Ohio Library Council’s 2011 book fair looks to reestablish the state as a powerhouse in the library market.
