Bookmarks are a great way to spread the word about your book and can be useful during author signings, giveaways and when your book is appearing at a book fair or conference. You don’t have to pay someone to design your bookmark for you, in fact if you have a book cover it’s really easy to make one yourself. But even if you don’t have a cover yet (or don’t want to use one for the bookmark) there are many ways of designing a bookmark that are pretty easy and best of all free. I will be using the free PicMonkey website to design the bookmark, and Overnightprints.com for the template and bookmark ordering. If you want to know how to make your own bookmark, keep reading for a step by step tutorial!

The first thing you want to do is download the bookmark templates from Overnightprints.com:

 http://www.overnightprints.com/file-specs/startfiles

Here you will need to click on the drop down menu beneath SELECT PRODUCT:

bookmark1

Once you do that, select BOOKMARK 2X6 from the drop down menu:

bookmark2
