This Services Agreement outlines the terms and conditions governing your use of the Combined Book Exhibit (“CBE”) services, described at www.combinedbook.com. By registering with CBE, you agree to the following:

Amendments & Updates

CBE reserves the right to update or change these Terms & Conditions, related policies, or service guidelines at any time. Updates will take effect upon posting on our website, without prior notice.

  • You are responsible for reviewing these Terms regularly.
  • Continued use of our services after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
  • If you do not agree with changes, discontinue use of our services.

Force Majeure: If a fair is canceled or postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, no refunds will be issued. Instead, CBE will provide a comparable service of equal value.

Author Attendance at Book Fairs

Most fairs coordinated by CBE are professional, trade-only events and do not allow author attendance.

As of the effective date of these Terms, the only fairs that permit author and/or public attendance are:

  • Sharjah International Book Fair
  • Guadalajara International Book Fair
  • Frankfurt International Book Fair

For all other fairs:

  • Authors may not be eligible for access.
  • CBE cannot provide event credentials or guarantee entry.
  • Book registration with CBE does not include badges, tickets, or admission. Authors attending eligible fairs must secure their own registration and pay any associated fees.
Order Accuracy & Responsibilities
  • Customers, resellers, and authorized representatives are responsible for providing accurate information (author details, book information, email, etc.).
  • Information submitted during registration will appear exactly as provided in CBE’s printed and online catalogs.
  • It is your responsibility to update and maintain accurate information.
  • Resellers and marketing companies must ensure their clients review and accept these Terms.

File Submissions:

  • For “Look Inside the Book” features, you must upload a PDF or EPUB file. CBE will display up to 25% of the uploaded file, starting from the beginning.
  • If you send a file directly to CBE staff for upload, you automatically accept all CBE Terms.

Deadlines & Registrations:

  • Registration must be completed before books are shipped to CBE. Unregistered books cannot be guaranteed display.
  • Copies for display must be provided by stated deadlines.
  • Registrations cannot be changed after the published deadline.
  • Space is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Display Copies & Catalog Ads
  • Display copies become the property of CBE and may be donated after shows unless other arrangements are made.
  • If a catalog ad is ordered but the required PDF is not received by the deadline, CBE may use your book’s front cover as the ad.
Payments & Restrictions
  • Full payment is required prior to the show unless other arrangements are made in writing.
  • CBE reserves the right to deny registration.
  • Not permitted: pornographic content, hate speech, or materials deemed inappropriate by CBE.
Exhibit Booth Guidelines

CBE booths are staffed only by authorized representatives. Shelf placement is not guaranteed. CBE may adjust displays as needed.

Authors/publishers attending fairs where CBE exhibits may:

✅ Take photos of their titles.

✅ Take photos with family or friends at the booth.

✅ Leave small promotional items at permitted fairs (except London Book Fair NTS & Frankfurt Book Fair).

Authors/publishers may not:

❌ Hand out promotional materials inside the booth.

❌ Hold meetings in the display area.

❌ Remain in the display area for extended periods.

Resellers of CBE Services
  • Resellers must ensure their clients acknowledge these Terms (via online checkbox or written agreement).
  • Failure to do so may result in the reseller indemnifying CBE for any violations.
  • Any company reselling CBE services must clearly state on their website or promotional materials that Combined Book Exhibit is the company of record for title displays.
Exhibit Badges

Book registration with CBE does not include admission badges for book fairs.

  • Badges must be purchased directly from the fair organizers.
  • Fees vary by event.
Disclaimer

CBE provides advertising and promotional services. While we promote titles, CBE does not guarantee sales or orders as a result of participation.
